Rev. Dr. Bob Bardin

STATED SUPPLY PASTOR

Our Pastor, Robert Bardin (Bob), came to us by God’s call. In more than 40 years of previous ministry he has served five churches: two in North Carolina, one in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, one in Troon, Scotland, and one in Wisconsin. After retiring from First Presbyterian Church in Goldsboro in 2020, he served for nine months as an Interim Pastor in Elizabethtown. He began ministry in our church in November of 2022. He is married to Sally, a retired counselor (LPC) from Kenansville, and they have four children and two grandchildren. With family roots in Greene and Edgecombe counties he is a confirmed lover of Eastern North Carolina. “I have often poured peanuts in my Pepsi, enjoyed the whine of a porch swing, and washed tobacco gum from my hands with Lava Soap.” He has a passion for ministry: for preaching, teaching, and pastoral care. He says that each church he has served has been the best church he has served… “and that’s surely true of Mount Olive Presbyterian Church.” To contact Bob Bardin, please call the church office at 919-658-2044 or email him directly at bobandsallybardin@gmail.com.

Cathy Mason

MUSIC DIRECTOR

It seems as though I have been seated on an organ bench or a piano bench in a church sanctuary for my entire life! I began playing for church services at age 12 when my grandmother’s church needed a musician. After graduating from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance, I taught piano and organ to many students. I have continued as a church musician throughout the years, serving a variety of denominations along the way. I also have taught music, math, science, social studies and reading in public school for over 30 years as well as serving as a public school administrator during that time.

Joining Mount Olive Presbyterian Church as musician in the early spring of 2006, I have enjoyed being a part of the congregation as well as the music ministry. It is a pleasure and an honor to make music with the folks at MOPC!
