Mount Olive Presbyterian Church
Established in 1874, we are an historic church down east sharing the love of Christ with our community and the wider world. Our worship, service and church life are shaped by Jesus Christ and the Presbyterian-Reformed tradition. We are a member church of the PC(USA) and the New Hope Presbytery.
150th Anniversary Celebration
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2024 AT 10:30 AM
In the early 1870s, a small group of Presbyterians living in Mount Olive and the surrounding country petitioned then Wilmington Presbytery to organize a Presbyterian Church. On September 29, 1874, Rev. Alexander Kirkland met with others from the surrounding area to organize the new congregation of Mount Olive Presbyterian Church. Of the sixteen charter members, twelve were women.
One hundred and fifty years later, Mount Olive Presbyterian Church is still going strong!
Our Sunday worship service begins at 11:00 AM. The stream will start shortly before that time. If you can't be with us in person, you can join us online!
The recording will also be available online after the service is over.
In some cases, technical difficulties arise and we cannot stream and are unable to update the web site ahead of time. E-mail updates go out for these instances--you can sign up to receive all messages from the church lower down on this page!
